Check byte limits before pasting text
A short-looking sentence can take more bytes than expected when it includes Korean, Japanese, emoji, or symbols. This counter shows UTF-8 bytes next to character counts so you can check limits before pasting text into a database field, API request, CMS, or support form.
Character count follows Unicode code points, while the grapheme count is closer to what people see as individual characters. UTF-16 units are included because some browser and JavaScript limits still refer to that shape.
The text is counted in the browser as you type. Nothing is uploaded, and the page does not keep a history of what you paste.
