What to keep in mind when converting PNG to JPG
Converting PNG to JPG usually shrinks the file by 5 to 10 times, which makes it easier to send through messengers and email. Photos with natural color gradients keep their look nearly intact after JPG compression, and the format matches what cameras produce by default, so it works well for print orders too.
There is one trade-off: JPG doesn't support transparent backgrounds. Any transparent areas in your PNG get filled with white during conversion. Keep logos and icons that need an empty background as PNG or WebP, and use JPG for photos and general screen captures.
Once converted to JPG, the lost detail can't be recovered by going back to PNG. If you plan to edit the same image multiple times, save the original PNG alongside the JPG copy you share. A quality setting around 90 strikes a good balance between file size and visual quality.
